ABOUT US
Physiotherapy, commonly known as physical therapy in the U.S., is the term used in many other countries—similar to the way 'soccer' is called 'football' elsewhere. At Empower Physiotherapy and Wellness, we use the term 'physiotherapy' to highlight the unique and personalized care we offer, setting us apart from what people may traditionally associate with physical therapy.
The field of physical therapy has evolved significantly in recent years. With the transition to a doctorate-level education, physical therapists are more highly trained than ever before, allowing for even better patient outcomes. However, many traditional clinic models have shifted toward higher patient volumes, making it harder for patients to get the individualized attention they deserve.
At Empower, we are committed to offering personalized, one-on-one care in a way that maximizes the value of every session. Our goal is to provide exceptional, patient-centered care that helps you achieve long-lasting results more efficiently.
At Empower Physiotherapy, we break the mold of typical physical therapy practices. Unlike many clinics that depend on high visit numbers that become costly and in-network referrals, our primary goal is to get you better as quickly as possible, using the fewest visits necessary. We rely on the effectiveness of our treatments, word-of-mouth referrals, and cost efficiency to make us your top choice for physical therapy in Brookings, SD. Choose Empower Physiotherapy for exceptional care and faster recovery.
Patients notice the difference. I have heard countless times, "I have done physical therapy and it didn't work, I am only here because my doctor, insurance etc. said I have to be to get x,y,z. As soon as the evaluation process, patients notice the difference in my approach. I am very thorough but yet listen to your concerns. My treatment style is very hands-on, using a variety of techniques to restore mobility and reduce pain. Then we begin the process of Empowering You to heal yourself. You will receive homework that maybe just education, a stretch or two, a strength exercise or lifestyle modification that will launch you in your journey of Empowerment.
Your well-being depends on your good health. My job is to ensure that your body is at its very best.
My goal is to enable you to move freely and without pain. I hold a doctorate degree in physical therapy and advanced training in dry needling, manual therapy and advanced sports and weightlifting training.
My goals are:
"Can't say enough good things about Kyle and the work that he does. I was hesitant to get my knee injury looked at by anyone after a bad experience with a PT a few years back. Kyle talked me into getting checked out and within 15-20 mins, I was walking out the door feeling like a new man. He's very knowledgeable, personable and will keep it very real with you. Would highly recommend Kyle to anyone!"
Dan Upton, Brookings SD
"I have been to several Physical Therapists for my TMJ and none of them gave me very much relief, but when I went to Kyle for help, he made a huge difference! He was able to help me significantly reduce my pain and headaches after just one visit. His knowledge and skills are outstanding! I would highly recommend Kyle!"
Kristina Lapsley, Brooking SD
"I had the pleasure of working with Kyle after I retired from 20 years of military service. The first thing that I noticed right off the bat was how knowledgeable and professional Kyle was.
Kyle quickly came up with a game plan to get me back to slowly running, since running was a major form of therapy for me.
The mobility/stretching program Kyle created for me has become an integral part of my every morning routine.
Good luck on trying to find a better Sports Physiologist than Kyle."
